Here's some coffee news that made the rounds last week: Experts say a major coffee shortage is on the horizon, Starbucks is doing their part by giving away free coffee trees to farmers (they also launched a new coffee education blog). Dunkin Donuts celebrated their 65 year anniversary by adding Vanilla Cupcake Coffee to their lineup, American Eagle released a new line of jeans made from used coffee grounds, and STEEM's caffeinated peanut butter created a lot of buzz.

Also a Kansas City company made a special blend of coffee for the Pope's  U.S. visit, Whole Foods Markets 25¢ coffee is coming to an end, Starbucks adds new Toasted Graham Latte to their menu, and macchiatos can now be found at Dunkin Donuts.

On the health front, coffee consumption has been linked to improved survival in colon cancer patients, on the flip side, a different study linked drinking coffee with increased cardiovascular events when consumed by young adults with mild hypertension.
